• Cleaned up some text and graphical mistakes, corrected some language
• All info button content is loaded and ready for viewing
• Condensed Chat now has the ability to deselect users who are privately being message by clicking anywhere in the chat box that is not a chat window or button
• As of now, todays testing of the avatars swapping depth with each other seems to be smooth, no lag or slowness with the swap
• Top menu bars in the Tour unload properly when switching between components/pages
• Single User application of the room now swaps all depths accordingly, Mutli-user depth swapping of room objects with users still is being worked on

Notes/Bugs

• There was something wrong with the chatting today. Server was up and down today.
  Not sure if its that or something broken. Currently working on a solution.
• On the “Choose Avatar” section, the “Save Changes” button should show up after the avatar choice is select
• If user tries to log into the application again without logging out (or closing out of the browser), it bricks the program; Need to deal with this issue by having the server reset the users information before the user logs back in
• Put a date on the tour (September 2006 – May 2008)
• Search for a solution for allowign the avatar to move closer to the hit test objects before stopping (i.e. walls, desks)

Here it is folks.

I was approved today for the re-defending of my thesis. A time will be set up in the future for this event. It is complete for now, for the fact i want to always see what boundaries I can push. For example, I’d like to see video conferencing capabilities for meetings or just casual chat.

Update Notes FlashCHAT v 3.3:

• Condensed chatroom is up and running; all the apparent bugs have been fixed.
• Condensed chatroom now closes properly.
• Code for swapping of depth when more then one user is logged on is implemented (though not fully functional)
• Code for swapping of depths when more then one user is logged on is slow when active and does not keep
  in mind the other object’s depth in the room.

• Avatar depth sorting code is functional
• Avatars have their depths change appropriately when they cross paths (walk in front or walk behind each other)
• Logging into Tour now works properly, all connection tests are ran as the user logs in, so it doesn’t break the application

Notes/Bugs

• The main problem with the avatar depth sorting: It slows the application
• The problem is the code continuously running as the avatar is in motion and touching the other user’s avatar,  so it does not stop executing even if the depth is correct but still touching
• Fix avatar depth sorting code so it does not continuously execute
• When the user logs in with the wrong information, change the text and  add a line break after “again”

• Depth sorting of objects when multiple avatars are loaded does not work properly
• Depth sorting of objects in the Tour work with the user’s avatar in place, but breaks when adding a second user’s avatar into the Tour
• When condensed chat is open, typing in the chat box triggers calls to the avatar movement code (specifically A, S, W and D keys)
• On “Special Thanks” page, change “have to thank” to “would like to thank”
• On “Special Thanks” page, add “Next” button to go to another page to thank the coder’s that helps me
  and give a link to their pages
• Give credit to the coder’s of Tweenlite / Coreyoneil Collision Detection / Fmsguru
• “Welcome” info button needs pages 5-7 needs more content
• On Condensed chat, need a method of deselecting the users so the user can chat normally instead of privately
• When on info pages and use the log out button, it does log out to the login screen  as intended, but does not unload the top bar

• Success at real-time depth sorting of the user’s avatars as they overlap each other
• User test involving a green box swapping depths with the logged in user as it moves in front of behind the back; the test initiated as
  the user object platform underneath the user hits the green box
• Not the most cleanest of application, but shows the logic and the code is intact
• If the avatar is in front of the green box, the box is placed one depth behind the user, and if the avatar is behind the green box,
  the green box is placed one depth in front of the user
  with a logic if else statement

• The Y coordinates of the green box and avatar tested to see where in relation they are to each other, with the test being two specific parts or points of the objects (a central point on the green box and the user object platform under his feet)
• Do not need to know the X relationship, but it helps test my code out and maybe used at a later date

Notes/Bugs

• Need to apply the code to the users avatars and not the green box
• A solution is to add a reference of each users avatar into an array and run the Y coordinate test when the movement code is ran and the user avatar’s collision is true. The user avatar Y coordinate is then tested against the collided user’s avatar Y coordinate with the logic listed above to find the results

• Logo moved to the top
• Redesign Navigation bar: now on the top right hand side of the screen and closer together to keep the design more friendly
• X button in Tour section will either close Condensed Chat if opens if pressed once, and close Tour and go to main menu if pressed again.
• Chatroom and its buttons functional
• Users may privately message one another by clicking on their name in the room list to the right side of the screen.
• By clicking the “Deselect” button, users can once again send messages to the entire Chatroom and not privately
• Added avatar at the beginning of the Tour as a starter point,
  holds the introduction info button
• Info buttons in their respective places
• Close button added to the bottom of the “Choose Avatar” menu
  to go back to the main menu. X button removed from that menu
• Close button added to “Live Chat” to go back to the main menu

Notes/Bugs

• Something causes the loading up of the Tour to not function. The problem has been isolated and will be fixed in the next version. The position, logic, and execution of the code is the problem. When a User logs in, a test is ran before it makes a netconnection to the Tour and the server. The test needs to be ran as you login to the application, preferably right after the login information is accepted and before the main menu is loaded.
• Work on depth sorting of user’s avatars as they move in front and behind each other, it was pushed back to fix other bugs / sections
• Add the rest of the info button content to each buttons; place holder images will be in placed.
• Info buttons still bug out at a random rate; the conclusion is the tweening of the fade in screen as the info button is loaded. This will be removed for the next version

• All avatars are loading into the users applications as intended
• User 1 and User 2 will see each other logged into Tour and moving avatars around updates throughout all user applications
• User 1 (The first user logged in) will stop movement functionality when he runs into User 2
• Logging users out updates the other users application,
  deleting the logged out user from the application
• Log out button for main application now functions properly,
  bringing the user to the login screen

Notes/Bugs

• All users hit test each other and stop movement
  when they run into each other
• Continue working on the depth sorting between the users

• Info buttons tested in different places and layouts
• Chatroom buttons have been redone and designed more to fit
  the application’s overall design
• Condensed chat button works properly allowing only one open instance of the chat

Notes/Bugs

• A bug when loading the info buttons renders the program bricked (unresponsive and non-functional)
• Four to five info buttons will be loaded and selectable
• Test info pages without the loading tween page,
  which seems to be causing the bug
• Continue with the multi-user functionality
